Gib II

$9.00

During the past few cold months, I found myself reaching for cozy sweaters that I could tug on over warm flannels and found my wardrobe a bit lacking! The moment I saw Brooklyn Tweed’s new yarn, Imbue, with its round, bouncy nature, I knew it was destined for texture, cables and a new raglan to keep me cozy! This sweater is named with love for the #1 fan of my knitting blog so many years ago - my Grandpa Gib.

*In purchasing this product you will receive a .pdf pattern for the pictured item so that you can knit them up yourself, not the actual finished item.

This sweater is named with love for the #1 fan of my knitting blog so many years ago - my Grandpa Gib.

DETAILS
This sweater is knit from the top down (meaning you can try it on as you go and add length to suit your own personal style!), beginning with the collar. The yoke is adorned with cabled raglans and the allover knit purl texture of the sweater. You will separate the sleeves placing them on hold while the body is finished and then returned to the needle, picking up stitches for the underarm for a totally seamless sweater!

SIZES
1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9)
#sizeinclusive

FINISHED CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE
While I don’t believe clothing needs to be gender specific, I have received many requests for more of my sweater patterns to have a “mens” version, including broader shoulders, deeper yokes and longer sleeves and bodies. My goal is to include more sizes to fit an even greater range of body types! If you are looking for the “womens” version of this pattern, you can find it here!

33.5 (38.5, 41.5, 46.5, 49.5)(54.5, 57.5, 62.5, 65.5)”
85.5 (97.5, 105.5, 118, 126)(138, 146.5, 158.5, 166.5) cm
Intended to be worn with 2 to 6”/5 to 15 cm of positive ease. To pick your best size, measure your full chest and add or subtract your desired ease, then pick the finished chest circumference closest to that number.
Sample shown in size 3 with 4”/10 cm positive ease on a man who is 6’ tall.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.

For this sweater I chose Brooklyn Tweed’s newest yarn base - Imbue. This yarn is made up of 5-plys of worsted spun yarn, which creates a very round yarn perfect for cables and texture!

(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge, and size down 2 needle sizes for ribbing.)
