Just over a year ago I got a sneak peek of the amazing glacial blue yarn I used to design Sprite. The moment Rachel (Ritual Dyes) showed it to me, I knew I had to pair it with Jewelweed (that amazing poppy red) in a playful sweater! This pullover is worked from the top down with corrugated ribbing (perfect for a pop of color) and a fun textured yoke!

This sweater is knit from the top down (meaning you can try it on as you go and add length to suit your own personal style!), beginning with the collar. The circular yoke is adorned with playful texture, and then you will separate the sleeves placing them on hold while the body is finished with a simple slip stitch textured pattern. The sleeves are then returned to the needle, picking up stitches for the underarm for a totally seamless sweater!

SUGGESTED YARN
For this sweater I chose a Merino/Corriedale blend in a soft blue for the main color and a bright poppy red for the contrasting corrugated ribbing. The Merino keeps the sweater soft, while the Corriedale will give it longevity!

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
Main Fabric: US 5/3.75 mm - 16”/40 cm to 40”/100 cm circular & preferred needles for small circumference (Magic Loop or DPNs)

Sleeve Fabric: US 6/4 mm - Preferred needles for small circumference (such as Magic Loop or DPNs)
Many knitters gauge tightens up on the sleeves of a sweater (just a simple difference between knitting the large circumference of a body compared to the small circumference of sleeves), so if you fall into this category, I recommend going up a needle size when knitting the sleeves to maintain a consistent gauge throughout the project.

Ribbing: US 3/3.25 mm - 16”/40 cm circular for collar, 32”/80 cm to 40”/100 cm for hem & preferred needles for small circumference for cuffs.

(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge. The Ribbing needle should be 2 sizes smaller than the Main Fabric needle.)

NOTIONS
Stitch marker (1), cable needle (optional for rearranging sts for the CO & BO), small crochet hook for bobbles (size C recommended), waste yarn or stitch holders to hold sleeve sts and tapestry needle for Kitchener stitch and weaving in ends.

23 sts & 34 rows = 4”/10 cm
Measured over stockinette stitch in the round, using the Main Fabric needle and measured after blocking.
